Dr. Kevin Wyse died peacefully at home on 23rd October 2023, aged 77 years old.
Kevin showed an early interest in Chemistry, which he went on to study at Sheffield University where he obtained his BSc followed by a doctorate in organic chemistry in 1971. He started his career at Rohm and Hass in the UK agrochemical marketing department and moved to Uniroyal in 1975 as the East European area manager. He was rapidly promoted to Marketing Manager for Europe, Africa, and the Middle East, and then in 1982 to Worldwide Manager based at Uniroyal headquarters in Connecticut.
It was whilst at Uniroyal that he met Mike Hartley, and they went on to co-found Fine Agrochemicals in 1983. Over the next 30 years, Kevin was instrumental in building a portfolio of Plant Growth Regulators (PGR) and in expanding Fine’s marketing presence worldwide to become a global leader in PGR technology. Kevin and Mike negotiated a successful sale of the Fine business to De Sangosse in 2014.
Kevin leaves behind his wife Christine, four sons and a daughter, and an extended family of grandchildren and great grandchildren.
